Description

This private tour of Stirling & the Lower Highlands gives a real taste of Scotland and what better way to do it than in the comfort of a luxury minivan.

Stirling Castle is arguably one of the greatest fortresses and a real testament to Scotland’s past where many of our most famous battles were fought and won. The castle also provides a fantastic view onto the Wallace Monument built as a tribute to two of Scotland’s most famous son’s William Wallace & Andrew de Moray who helped Scotland to victory at Stirling Bridge.

Along with Stirling Castle we will visit the Falkirk Kelpies, Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park and get the chance to feed some Highland Cattle.

You also have the option to customise this tour to really make it unique to your taste, you may wish to add a whisky distillery, visit the Falkirk Wheel, Callander House or sail on Loch Lomond please just inform us when booking you would like to edit the itinerary.

Tour Itinerary

Tour Itinerary

Starting your tour from either Edinburgh, or the surrounding area, we will drive northwest towards Falkirk for our first stop at the Falkirk Kelpies to marvel at the 100ftl equine steel structure which pays homage to our mythical beast the water horse or kelpie. From here we will drive north to Stirling Castle where we will spend some time enjoying the castle before making our journey west to Loch Lomond National Park. You will have the option to do a small walk in the Loch Lomond area and grab some lunch at an old traditional pub which we can arrange on your behalf. After lunch we will drive further north along the Dukes Pass which many call the Highlands in miniature before making our last stop of the day visiting some Highland Cattle.

FAQ

Stirling Castle Tour FAQ's

FAQ

Our FAQ's can be found here but FAQ's specific to this tour are below:

Is the tour customisable? - Yes, this is the benefit of booking a private tour. We have put some options in the attractions section which you can add into the tour, but we would need to adjust timings and possibly take other stops out to accommodate this request.

Where can we start the tour? Although the tour itinerary is based on starting in Edinburgh, we can start the tour in the surrounding area and anywhere on the route. Please get in touch for more information.

Should we make a lunch reservation? This really depends on where you would like to eat. We would suggest Drymen or Balmaha where we will be around lunch time. Please contact us to book a reservation.

Is the tour flexible for other stops on the way? Yes, the time on tour is down to you, which is the beauty of a private tour. The stated itinerary tries to make the most of the time on tour, but you can alter stops on the route to your interests as long as it fits into the timings of the tour.

Do you book attractions or whisky distilleries for us? We currently do not offer this but we will advise and recommend attractions based on what information you can give us when booking.
